Princess Stéphanie of Monaco looks the perfect royal grandmother in a new photo released by her daughter-in-law,
Marie Ducruet in celebration of the Princess’s 68th birthday. Marie recently welcomed her second baby with Princess Stéphanie’s son,
Louis Ducruet, and it appears baby Constance is clearly enjoying a true Monégasque welcome to the House of Grimaldi.
Posting on her social media channels, Marie shared a behind-the-scenes snapshot of family life among the Monaco royals. Princess Stéphanie,
the sister of Prince Albert of Monaco, can be seen cradling Constance as she feeds the newborn with a bottle of milk. Dressed in a comfy grey t-shirt and her signature glasses, the Princess is clearly relishing the chance to look after the newest member of the family.
Alongside the photo, Marie, 31, penned a heartfelt birthday message dedicated to Princess Stéphanie, writing: ‘Happy birthday to the best mother-in-law and “mauhmie”,’ perhaps in reference to an adorable family nickname for the royal.
Marie Ducruet and Louis Ducruet, 32, announced the birth of their second daughter with an adorable Instagram post, released two days after Constance was born on 2 December. Marie and Louis, who married in 2019, already shared a two-year-old daughter, Victoire.
‘Our family is growing again with the arrival of our little Constance,’ the new mother wrote alongside a snapshot of the newborn’s hospital tag, ‘Someone was eager to meet her.’ Indeed, the next image is an adorable insight into family life for the Ducruets, with what looks like Victoire holding the hand of her new sister in a cot.

The couple revealed that they were expecting their second child earlier this year. In the post, Victoire could be seen wearing a baby pink cardigan which reads, ‘big sis’, while the couple’s dog, Pancake, is wearing a bandana reading, ‘Oh no, not again!’ In the adorable social media post, Marie wrote, ‘Pancake and Goldilocks have an announcement to make… they are waiting for a new member in the fraternity, the family is growing!’ The couple were quickly flooded with well-wishers, including Ducruet’s sister Camille Gottlieb, who posted a series of heart eye emojis.
Louis Ducruet is the eldest child of Princess Stéphanie and her then-boyfriend Daniel Ducruet, making him the nephew of Prince Albert, the country’s ruling monarch. Whilst the Princess and Ducruet would marry in 1995, shortly after the birth of their two children, they would divorce just a year later.
Marie and Louis first met as students in 2011, when they met at a bar in Cannes. Both were then studying at the Skema Business School. The couple announced their engagement in 2018, and were married the following year in Monaco’s city hall.
Last September, the pair celebrated Victoire’s christening with a stunning church ceremony. Marking the occasion, they shared a joint post to Instagram writing, ‘”Oh happy day”.’ They followed the message by writing, Bapteme de Victoire alongside the date, 7th September.
In the photographs, Marie could be seen dressed in an elegant cream dress, whilst Louis opted for a navy suit and tie for the occasion. In another snap, the couple posed alongside his half-sister, Camille Gottlieb, and his brother, Michaël Ducruet.
The family have chosen to keep Victoire’s identity private in any social media posts, a move they are seemingly continuing with Constance. Speaking to HELLO! they explained the decision, noting that their daughter will have all the time in the world for public notoriety ‘given the family she’s been born into.’
