A royal fan who met Princess Kate on Christmas Day has taken to social media to “set the record straight” after the future Queen was accused of not enjoying the annual walkabout.
The Princess of Wales, 42, was among the Royal Family members who spent time talking to well-wishers on Wednesday as they left the annual Christmas Day church service at Sandringham.
She was spotted talking to members of the public, sharing hugs, and being given large bouquets of flowers.
However, since December 25, some people have taken to social media to say that the princess looked as if she didn’t enjoy the walkabout and was simply making herself do it.
This prompted one royal fan, who was at Sandringham, to defend Kate, claiming that she was “geniunely happy” and spent around 40 minutes engaging with the public.
The fan wrote on X: “She’s been so brave. Her voice may have wavered at first, but from the moment she got out of church, she went to meet all the people there. She was there, supported by those who loved her. She spent about 40 minutes with us, when it was really cold. She took time to listen and talk to everyone who had come to see her.
“While other members of the Royal family had sped down the path, she stood there, allowed them all to outstrip her. Her husband had to call a security member to tell her to hurry.”
